Good clothing starts with thoughtful choices. At Fifty 3 North Clothing, we aim to choose garments with care for their materials, how they’re made and how well they’ll wear over time.

Our approach to materials

Where possible, we choose garments made from certified organic cotton and recycled fibres. These are our preferred starting points when sourcing new pieces, alongside quality, comfort and fit.

Standards behind our choices

Where possible, we source from manufacturers whose garments and materials carry recognised independent certifications. These include:

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS): covering organic fibres, traceability, and environmental and social requirements in textile production.

Global Recycled Standard (GRS): verifying recycled content and setting requirements for its processing.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100: testing textiles for harmful substances.

These credentials relate to the applicable source garments and materials. They do not mean that every finished Fifty 3 North Clothing product carries every certification.

We favour manufacturers that take working conditions seriously, including those participating in Fair Wear and independent factory assessments to support improvements for garment workers.

These are the standards we aim for wherever possible. We may use different manufacturers to achieve the right fit, fabric or finish, so materials and certifications will vary between products.

How to dispose

Getting rid of our compostable mailers is a breeze!

After you've received your package, simply toss the mailer into your food waste collection bin.

These eco-friendly gems will then be whisked away to an industrial composting facility, where they will undergo a magical transformation into nourishing compost.
